Livio Ninni (1989) vive e lavora a Torino. La sua pratica artistica esplora il rapporto tra tempo, materia e paesaggio, indagando come la memoria possa essere incorporata all’interno delle strutture fisiche. Il suo lavoro si sviluppa attraverso l’uso di materiali come cemento, ferro e legno, in dialogo con elementi fotografici e interventi grafici, dando origine a composizioni basate su processi di frammentazione e ricostruzione.

Il suo percorso nasce da un interesse per l’arte urbana e il writing, inizialmente affrontati attraverso una pratica documentaria che lo porta a realizzare reportage fotografici in diverse città italiane, osservando l’azione artistica all’interno di spazi urbani spesso abbandonati. Nel 2015 entra a far parte del collettivo artistico Il Cerchio e le Gocce, esperienza che contribuisce allo sviluppo del suo approccio multidisciplinare. Questa ricerca evolve progressivamente verso un linguaggio in cui fotografia, pittura e installazione si intrecciano.

I suoi lavori prendono forma a partire dall’osservazione di ambienti esistenti, in particolare contesti post-industriali e spazi di transizione, intesi come rovine contemporanee: luoghi in cui il tempo si manifesta attraverso stratificazioni, tracce e trasformazioni. Attraverso queste indagini, Ninni costruisce sistemi visivi in cui diverse temporalità coesistono, passato e presente, organico e artificiale, struttura ed erosione.

Il suo lavoro non si concentra sulla rappresentazione, ma sulla costruzione di spazi sospesi, paesaggi fisici e mentali in cui lo spettatore può riconoscere tracce di qualcosa di familiare ma indefinito.

Il suo lavoro è stato presentato in mostre personali e collettive e sviluppato anche attraverso esperienze di residenza, tra cui il Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Catanzaro. Le sue opere sono presenti in diverse collezioni private e istituzionali, tra cui la Banca d’Italia.

Livio Ninni (1989) lives and works in Turin. His artistic practice explores the relationship between time, matter, and landscape, investigating how memory can be embedded within physical structures. His work develops through the use of materials such as concrete, iron, and wood, in dialogue with photographic elements and graphic interventions, giving rise to compositions based on processes of fragmentation and reconstruction.

His path originates from an interest in urban art and graffiti writing, initially approached through a documentary practice that led him to produce photographic reportages in various Italian cities, observing artistic action within often abandoned urban spaces. In 2015, he joined the artistic collective Il Cerchio e le Gocce, an experience that contributed to the development of his multidisciplinary approach. This research gradually evolved into a language in which photography, painting, and installation intertwine.

His works take shape from the observation of existing environments, particularly post-industrial contexts and transitional spaces, conceived as contemporary ruins: places where time manifests through stratifications, traces, and transformations. Through these investigations, Ninni constructs visual systems in which different temporalities coexist—past and present, organic and artificial, structure and erosion.

His work does not focus on representation, but on the construction of suspended spaces, physical and mental landscapes in which the viewer can recognise traces of something familiar yet undefined.

His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions and developed through residency experiences, including at the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Catanzaro. His works are held in various private and institutional collections, including the Banca d’Italia.
